kslonaker 0 Posted February 26, 2006 Liked his colors. I'm not sure if this is too close to the frame or not. I have another shot, but preferred this lighting. Comments? Link to comment
kctwain 0 Posted February 27, 2006 Kim, you are so fortunate to be able to photograph such a wide species of birds. Nice photo. I would actually prefer a compromise of the two photos you've shown...both for cropping and lighting. Well done. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 27, 2006 Thanks, Birte and Keith. Keith, I am VERY fortunate to have all kinds of birds around to photograph. I hadn't seen this kind of pelican before (with the brown) and thought they were really interesting! Link to comment
home page1 0 Posted February 27, 2006 The crop does seem a bit tight to me. I actually prefer the alternate image because of that, although it's a minor point. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 27, 2006 I was wishing I had a bit more room under the posted shot, but I didn't. I have some more pelican images so you'll be seeing others. Thanks for visiting, Ken! Link to comment

aepelbacher 0 Posted February 28, 2006 I actually like "the other one" better. :-) The colors strike me better. I also like that he's facing the camera in that one, but seems to be swimming away in the posted image. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 28, 2006 The more I look at the two of them, the more I prefer the other one, I think. Maybe a repost coming soon... Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted March 17, 2006 Very nice pose, Kim. The brown feathers on the neck contribute to the rich saturated colors of this image. (btw I found out they're called brown pelicans). I also uploaded a B&W version of my egret image as you suggested. I like it a lot. http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=4218296 Link to comment
