lucyhollis 2 Posted February 25, 2006 I took my camera to children's home one morning, where I am volunteering right now. This was one of the results. Baby Lucy (sorry about the confusion with names, she's my little 'hijita'!) was born premature, and still, at 2 1/2 months is tiny, though doing well. I just want to be able to hug her and cover her to keep her little body protected for always. Any comments are welcome and appreciated, thanks, Lucy Link to comment
marco_ruggiero 0 Posted February 25, 2006 And what it conveys. You have captured it so well and I like the B & W Vs the color. The whole image truly reflects the fragility of that life and yet the way that the hand "Hugs" it reflects the strength that all beings, especially children, have to cling to this life as precarious as it may be. Great image and extremely well captured. Link to comment

drewhendricks 0 Posted February 26, 2006 Lucy, I have to agree with the others. Excellent use of the color/bw effect. What I like the most is the subtley of the color. I find that too often when this technique is used the color is garish. Well Done! Link to comment

eye2eyephoto 0 Posted February 28, 2006 sweet!! harder to compose a shot like this than most might think; all those fingers could come out "busy" and confusing to the eye.. THIS is perfectly done. love it! Link to comment

dominiquedodge 0 Posted March 11, 2006 Very touching, very tender and moving. You heve done an excellent job here both in composition, clarity, lighting, and sharpness. The partial desat works well too (but I'd also like to see it entirely in B&W). My only critique concerns the blue sleeve. Although it serves a purpose in the context of the tiny baby (for who even the smallest clothes are too big) ... I find (somewhat reluctantly) that it is a slight distraction seeing that it is bright on the edge. Still without it the photo looses something ... A portrait format crop (remove the left 1/3) would be another possibility. Thanks for showing. Link to comment
mmmee 0 Posted March 12, 2006 nothing I can add to the above. Its a wonderfull shot. It fits in with a theme in the words no words forum that is current, called details. (up at the top click on forums and go to no words). Its all good fun. Link to comment
neild 1 Posted March 16, 2006 This is very well done... but I'm having a image here that the fingers in colour are normal adult size, and the other fingers are, well, huge!! Now I have this image, I can't shake it... interesting! Link to comment
