juan-de-santa-anna 0 Posted February 25, 2006 Barry... you have to go a little easier on yourself...This is a great shot!! Have you played around with printing this one? I would have been very proud to have gotten this image! Stay focused...juan You Da Man! Link to comment
bjcarlton 0 Posted February 26, 2006 Thanks, Juan. I guess what I meant to say was that if I had seen this part of the image when I was shooting, I would have explored it more. As it was, I was concentrating on getting her whole figure in. I'll definitely be thinking about the possibilities of this pose for the next session! Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted May 15, 2006 haven't had a chance to look much further into your portfolio to see other takes (if any) on this thought, but love the outcome here!! The pose and composition/crop are simply out standing. I'm very used to seeing black backgrounds on shots of this type, so the white is refreshing. Not sure what to think of the grain (unless it's just a byproduct of a huge crop). Anyway, really nice work here. Congrats! Link to comment
bjcarlton 0 Posted May 24, 2006 I'm not sure where the grain came from. This image is cropped, but not extremely. The capture was with TMax 400 medium format film, so there shouldn't be much grain, at least at this size. I've heard that sometimes scanning can create, through aliasing, a very grainy effect; I don't know if that's what happened here. Perhaps I'll have to head to a (gasp) enlarger and see if I get such a mottled appearance. I personally would prefer a smoother look. Link to comment
