This is really beautiful, Kim! I love the coloring, and the detail in the bark. The blue shadings on the lake are wonderful.

Kim and Cherlyn. I appreciate the feed back especially about the "blue" snow. I wasn't sure if I should tone it down or not. Winter in the country is so pristine and beautiful. I'm very glad to see you both.

Gorgeous! Shots like this make me actually consider moving north again ... truly cold weather (not the occasional 30 degree day like in DC), but truly COLD weather creates such beauty!! Thanks for sharing!!

Leann, nice to see you as always! Snowmobiling is the winter passtime in this area and there is a trail leading right through the lake into the bush. Yellow snow, bad...

Wilson thanks for noticing the sharpness, it still surprises me sometimes.

Lou Ann, it was nice to spend time in the country this winter and especially this past January as it was rather mild. Everything was so beautiful and pristine not like in the city where the snowbanks were brown and still are!

Picture perfect scenery! Love that you composed this with trees in the forefront. As stated before the crispness of the shot and the lighting are fabulous. The blue is just right to convey the coolness of the day. Very nicely done! Leslie

Kim - I love the papery flakes on these birches. This is an excellent outlook, it feels comfortable this side - like the viewer has taken cover for a moment from whatever goes on out there. The adjective crisp has been mentioned which, interestingly, sums up both the feeling of the air and the apparent dryness of the tree bark.

The air feels very clean; I like it here.

Hi Leslie! Yes, the lighting was fabulous that day as in, it was sunny!! Did not see the sun much in January. This particular afternoon I took advantage of the weather and went off looking for photo opportunities around the lake. Unfortunatly I couldn't get to some of the spots I wanted because there was too much snow. Next time I have to bring the snowshoes.

Hi Seven! I'm really glad you like it here and shared your feelings about this place. You are right, there is something that I find comforting as well. It is far away from the city and problems of real life but maybe this is real life...

Thank you both for your wonderful visit! Kim

Nice timing on this shot to capture the beautiful blue shadows on the lake. Stunningly crisp bouquet of winter textures, mmmm... The drop shadow might look better with the same direction lighting as in the shot as it seems to compete slightly. Very nicely done!

Kim, I like the rough tree tranks against the smooth bluish surface behind them. Both of them are depicting very well the winter atmospher and environment changes. Well composed, I really like it! Pnina

Very beautiful, crisp and clear winter landscape. Good idea not to correct the blue shade, the color temperature feels very natural. No nitpicks from me, I like it very much !

Cheers
