Well what can one say? This is just great.

I think you could have made the layout of the pieces on the chessboard more interesting. Since the player depicted in the image is waring a "fool's cap", the layout on the board could show him defeated by the ploy known as the "fool's mate" ,with the chessboard perhaps tilted upward more to show the final arrangement of the pieces more clearly.

I wanted to double Bill's comment.

The facial expression is priceless: I just love it - especially in connection with the idea of winning a chess game... :-) That said, I feel it's a bit of a pity, that most of this picture disappears in total darkness in the bottom half, and I regret to have the feel this was strongly photoshopped. I've no issue with PS, but in a case like this, I'd like a very believable portrait. regards.
