Macro Photography is great.

I did my first steps on that this week.

When you take your time you can make fantastic shots with simple

lenses on your DLSR:

Let the sun shining just in to the flower.

Add a black background and you are ready for shooting.

I used a standard lens (18 - 50mm) and add a close-up lens +3.

The focus I used here was F22, ISO 100 and shutterspeed 2 seconds.

A stable tripod is a must of course!

And the result is...................

Comments are welcome! Thanks.

WOWnderful Wim, how you let the flowerleaves catch the light. This way of lightening creates beautiful warm tones to the leaves which stand out great against the blackground.

I like to thank you also very much for give away the method you've used to come to this absolute amazing result. You've done an excellent job!

Warm greetings and though it's cold have a nice and sunny weekend, Ada:~)

Wim.. I've not used a close-up filter for some years now, because in my first experience with them I'd found that I lost all my dof.. Now I see from this that I must have been doing something wrong, or I was too inexperienced to use them correctly..

Any comments on that? I'm going to be digging around now to see if I can find mine! lol!

thanks, jb
