Brave or Foolhardy?

LenMarriott

Handheld, Auto exposure @ f11 (best guess). Scanned from 4x6 print. In PS, slight adjustment in Shadows\Highlights to reveal more details in each area. Got caught with ISO 800 film when the sun broke through the previously heavy overcast day. My shooting partner that day was braver than I. Best, LM.

Although the shadows are beginning to lose details, the composition and the interesting life-threatening water brought about much attraction for my eyes to feast on.

Tell your shooting partner to be careful or you may not have one. :^)

Arthur, The shadows are just GETTING some details (see Technical Details) thanks to PS. There was precious little detail there to begin with due to the high contrast of the scene and the possible underexposure caused by my in camera center-weighted meter being pointed at the extremely bright water. Just a fun shot anyway. Looks like he is trying to decide whether to mount his Coolpix 5700 on the tripod or cut & run. Thanks for stopping by. I can always count on you for an interesting take on things. Best, LM.

Well, Len, from here he appears to be a safe distance from the edge, but I can hear the roar of the water. I'm not sure what you can shoot from up close, anyway, and so I think that you were right to move back.

Has anyone ever tried to run this stretch and lived to tell about it?

Lannie, "...appears a safe distance...", Yah, but he's old & prone to dizzy spells:-) You'd have to be crazier than my friend here to want to shoot these falls in a kayak or rubber thingy & after having seen this location I doubt anyone has tried it............but you never know! Don't be a stranger! Best, LM.
