Just a comment on this image. It's funny what appeals to different people. For reasons I can't really explain, this is one of my absolute favorite images I've taken. I guess I love the texture in the material, the color, the overall palette and texture, etc. And yet, even though many have told me not to be concerned about ratings, I find it odd that 5 out of 7 people find this photo just "average." (defined in the dictionary as: "of the usual or ordinary standard, level, or quantity" I also find it more odd that over two thousand people have viewed the image and only one has commented and only 7 have rated (there are plenty of forum discussions on that topic as well). Just an observation I had to voice. Don't get me wrong, I still love the photo and it will be one of the pieces displayed at a gallery showing that I have coming up. And life goes on...

I guess this is such an old issue that I really don't think there's anything we can do. I have only 30 days of PN and I'm already sick and tired of trying to understand why people just rate! (when they even bother to do it) Is it so hard to exchange a few words? I'm trying my best here but due to technical/experience limitations and cannot go further than sticking to what I know. I recognize the huge effort you're making to change this but I think you have more important things on your mind. Yes...I took a look on your new bio and I was glad to find some great news in it! Hope everything goes well in May and thank god for Terry's efforts on that. Any "very special" recent work for May or getting trough those piles of CDs? Let me ear from you whenever you got the time and congratulations for the exhibit. Sorry for writing this here but I guess no one's going to notice that (unfortunately). Best regards, Rui

That's very generous of you to write back, Rui! Yikes! The amount of images I have to go through is daunting sometimes. I haven't even gone back (and probably won't) to look at the slides I have from far too many years ago. I will probably show more recent work. I'll be working with the gallery owners and others to select. I have enough from my China trip (not all pictured here) to do a show just about that. We'll see what the future holds. Don't apolgize for your efforts in communicating your thoughts, you did a wonderful job and your comments have lifted my spirits. Once again, thank you for the thoughts.
