This brought back a funny memory, if you'll indulge me:

A friend of mine used to waitress and didn't make such great tips so one day she decided to go all out and be really bubbly in her approach.

At lunch one of the tables she seated were 3 business people, 1 lady and 2 gents. They ordered their food, which duly arrived, and my friend upon returning to check that everything was OK, saw that one of the gentlemen had made quite a mess around himself. So, in a bubbly good natured way she said 'oh look what a mess sloppy in the corner has made', she thought nothing of it and walked away.

From the corner of her eye she saw the lady paying for the meal at the till and the group leaving the restaurant - which she thought was unusual considering the extra effort she had been making.

A few moments later the lady returned, walked up to her and said 'sloppy in the corner only has one arm', turned, and promptly marched out.

I like your photo, it brough up this memory too which always makes me chuckle, not at the 1 armed man, but at the situations my friend gets into.

Lol, funny story, Ben. I know someone who makes comments like that all the time and then has to backtrack bigtime! Of course, we all find it quite amusing later, but at the time, it's one of those "cringe" moments. One comment he made was "Oh, you're left-handed like me" to someone who has no right hand!!!

I think that you could have easily gone either way with the hand, Kim. I covered it up and it looked just as good as the way you've presented it. I think that to see the hand lends context, which, in my mind, is always a good thing. But, without the hand, to crop it very close to the left edge of the wood might focus attention on the animal, and not on the wooden post, which is currently threatening to upstage. I LOVE that his tongue is hanging out. :-)

Lou Ann, that's not her tongue - it's a piece of food sticking out! She was eating a carrot earlier and had that hanging out of her mouth, too!

Sorry! :) They do remind me of human babies - I love their expressions and could stay all day at the orangutan pen.
