robertbrown 1 Posted February 18, 2006 I'd tried using the jetty wall as compositional element to help frame the image--does it work? Link to comment
minicucci 0 Posted February 18, 2006 It sure does for me. Very nice work. The quality of light on the water and on the jetty wall is quite captivating. Well seen and executed. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 18, 2006 Works for me! I think this was a great approach to the scene. It's not only original, it's effective. I love the layering of the man made and natural elements. Crowding the main subjects in the bottom and top of the frame accentuates the sense of the wall straining to hold back the water. This is much better viewed larger! Nice new bio pic too by the way. phil morgan 0 Posted February 18, 2006 Great idea with the framing of this shot. A very nice capture. Cant agree with the 3/3 rates at all I wish people would have the balls to leave a reason when rating like that. Well done. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted February 19, 2006 Patricia, thanks for the nice comments--I really enjoyed looking at your portfolio.I'm going to look at how you do your b&w conversions and give it go on this one and see if it improves. Wish me luck. Laurie, thanks for the nice "reading" of my photo. You've articulated what I must have been thinking when I shot this! Phil, thanks for the nice comment. I've been on PN now for 4 years (sometimes I have to take a few month break) and the ratings seem to get worse every year: I don't let it bother me. Thanks for stopping by. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted February 24, 2006 Aaron, thanks for the very kind comparison--I thought this had a pictorialist feel to it. Link to comment
