ljk 0 Posted February 18, 2006 Along the Great Ocean Road...a much photographed area. Didn't stop me from trying my own take on it.... Link to comment
luis_santos2 0 Posted February 18, 2006 Hello Linda! I like the colors in you photo, particulary the one you achieved in the sand. I though must tell you that your foot prints (perhaps), unbalance the photo harmony. Just a thougt and please don't get me wrong. Link to comment
mikestacey 0 Posted February 18, 2006 Nice idea Linda, the view through the rocks to the sea stack is appealing. The colours in the sand and sky are great in this part of the world and you've captured them well. Congratulations. I agree about the footprints but it's nearly impossible to leave them out sometimes. Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted February 18, 2006 Luis and Mike...thanks for your comments. Interesting that you both mention the footprints. At first, I thought of eliminating them, but a picture doesn't always have to be about perfection, IMO. I'm not planning on selling it, after all. They show that this is a place where people have trod, and stood and appreciated, and so, although I do see your point, it was a conscious choice to have them as part of the image. Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted February 18, 2006 Interesting image. I could see this as the cover of an adventure novel. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 18, 2006 I bet if the footsteps were more prominent, they would be more acceptable. It's the subtlety of them that is probably making people want them out of the shot - not quite there, but enough so that they draw attention. That said, I don't mind them - it looks like a "true" picture of what you saw that day, and how beautiful it is! Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted February 19, 2006 I'm glad you were not intimidated by the many shots of this beach. I've seen a few but never from this angle. We are so used to perfect untouched shots of beaches that a few footprints now go against the norm. Your 'because they were there' approach is perfectly valid and more honest than the 'clone them out' philosophy. I think I might go for dishonesty though! Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted February 19, 2006 Colin...most of the shots of this place, are taken from the observation deck. We climbed down a long set of stairs to observe from ground level. I guess we weren't the only ones... Link to comment
david_cassidy2 0 Posted May 19, 2006 Gorgeous image. Strong tones, strong subject, strong composition. Well done. Link to comment
dragonfly606 0 Posted October 11, 2006 Wow! The slight marine haze really accentuates your DOF. Makes the background look like a Hollywood movie set. Beautiful place. Link to comment
