nicholasprice 0 Posted February 14, 2006 Upper or Lower? Hi Pete, I haven't been home for ages, and my mind seems to be going as I cannot place these boxes, unless they are at the crossroads with Pepper Street and Grosvenor Street? Enough nostalgia...this image is quintisentially Enhlish, after all where else could this have been taken? Fond regards, Nick. Link to comment
pjmeade 12 Posted February 15, 2006 Hello Nick, there are four, right in the middle of Upper Bridge Street. The one really big change was the number of bouncers. Back in the 1970's there were three or four lively pubs, now there is a brace of bouncers every 20 yards. And the Talbot has gone, it was next to St Olaf's Lane. Cheers. P Link to comment
marco_ruggiero 0 Posted February 15, 2006 A Nick mentioned above, that is also what is triking is that is so English, and for me it is even more than the booths. There is something about the lady, especially her attire, elegant even under the most everyday. Coupled with her position. Also what I think is genial is your capture of the boy in the booth. All coupled with the whole composition. I really like it. Great image. Link to comment
pjmeade 12 Posted February 15, 2006 Hello Marco, what marks this lady out as a Brit, is the white skin. There's been no warm sunshine in the UK for about 4 months. Pete Link to comment
