afterthoughts 0 Posted February 14, 2006 There is a story here. Do you know what it is? Link to comment
mark_jordan3 0 Posted February 14, 2006 Looks like he has an ID band on his wrist...did he just bail out of a running event/race? Link to comment
kleintje 0 Posted February 14, 2006 He reminds me of myself panting after I managed to get myself in a sitting position after I twisted my feet and knee a few weeks ago... That or he's simply exhausted and got left behind by the others who are now sprinting up the steps as sort of desert after a 10 mile run? Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 14, 2006 Well composed. Nicely seen. I think it might be better if we could see his face, but I do like this shot as it is. Link to comment
minicucci 0 Posted February 14, 2006 Howard: This is a wonderful capture. It looks like anguish by exhaustion to me. The crop itself is very powerful. The one jarring note is the harsh light/tones. Especially the very high contrast shadows and light behind his legs. My eye keeps going to the highlights in that area because it seems almost as if there were wide halos there (although I know that's how the light actually was. I tried a version that smoothed the midtones and blurred the leg shadows as well as cloned out several of the more distracting light outlines around his legs. It's attached as a rough illustration of what I mean, not what I think you want (or should want). Great shot, though. I'd be proud to hang this one. Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted February 14, 2006 I see what you did, thanks. Actually, I struggled with the harsh contrast myself. In the end I decided the harsh contrast added to the intensity of the moment. To all who commented. The young man injured his leg and was out on the sideline. He was, to say the least, quite upset. I think I caught him during an emotional moment of heartbreak. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted February 14, 2006 Oh, that's too bad! (for him) Good capture for you! This is the same man from a previous shot, right? Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 15, 2006 That was my guess before I read all the comments. He looks very dejected and upset. I was thinking some kind of injury, although nothing is apparent. First thing I did was look for scrapes on his knees or arms, but didn't see anything. Your title also gives a strong clue. Nice one, Howard. Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted February 15, 2006 Correct, Lou Ann. He got up and started to dress when I made the other image. His team mates are the guys climbing the steps. Link to comment
