v 0 Posted February 14, 2006 This is as if about single-d-ness, about being alone. Very stiff. Very restrictive. almost like - empty. Gives a sensation of a dull pain in the throat/chest. Link to comment
cdaunis 0 Posted February 14, 2006 This was taken right before a big snowstorm we had on Sunday. You are keenly perceptive about the psychology of the shot, in fact. Your comments are like therapy. ;) Link to comment
v 0 Posted February 14, 2006 ... your shots are like an insight into your life. So please forgive me for only being nothing more than an observer. Link to comment
cdaunis 0 Posted February 14, 2006 An observer is all you can be, Vi. I'm not trying to tell a story with my shots per se, but each picture I take, whether it is of flowers, of me, or whatever the subject, reflects more of me, perhaps more than it should. A picture is a piece of the soul who takes it as much as it is of the subject. Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted February 14, 2006 Thanks, you two, for discussing this so well before I got here. Quite well executed (I find the napkin disturbing, jarring - nice detail!) and evocative. I'm now going to hunt down a short story by James Thurber called, I believe, Solo, a powerfully moving vignette about dining out alone. When I find it, I'll report back. Meanwhile: effective photograph, Chris. Link to comment
