aepelbacher 0 Posted February 13, 2006 Thanks for taking a look at my picture from downtown this morning. Where in Virginia are you? I live in Lorton, but work in Arlington. I see some rather familiar looking places in your portfolio. We've probably taken pictures of the same places at the same time before. :-) Link to comment
Jebamony 3 Posted February 13, 2006 The person in the scene was NOT added! I just had to wait for few cars to leave the road. Please take the time to critique &or to comment.Thank You.~ Julius Link to comment
sue3 0 Posted February 14, 2006 I guess you did get some snow down there in virginia recently! I am glad you waited to get the shot with the person. I think that the small amount of red in the persons jacket accents this nicely. very nice. Sue. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 14, 2006 powerful frame. Here in this picture, I like the angle, the subject at the bottom right corner and the big canvas. perfect. -John Padmarajan. Link to comment
Jebamony 3 Posted February 16, 2006 Thank you Lou Ann, it is so good to hear from a dear fellow Virginian! Igor, I hear you guys had the worst winter this year. Thank you for your comments! Sue, thank you. I must admit that I tweaked the image a bit to remove some colour [and other objects]. But red in the person's jacket is authentic. I am glad this image came out ok. John, I am glad you like this capture. I have seen your awesome work. I presume you are from India but not sure from what region. I always value your comments. Shukai, I am not sure about the "perfect" winter image. But I too was happy with the capture. It was too darn cold and I got out with my camera before the snow gets cleared. Thanks to all of you. Your comments and remarks are truly appreciated and valued. ~Julius Link to comment
alexguerra 0 Posted February 16, 2006 Very cool(d) shot. The winter feeling is perfectly conveyed, but for me it would have worked out even better if there was a bit less of the left side and a little more of the right showing. Perhaps the composition would get more balanced as it seems to have too much road on the foreground (for my own taste of course!). Congrats and regards, Alex Link to comment
Jebamony 3 Posted February 16, 2006 Alexandre, thank you for your comments. I do agree with the "too much" of the road. Here is another shot [few minutes later] of the same scene. You could also see the removed objects which are highlighted. Link to comment
sachinpatke 0 Posted February 18, 2006 Awesome Julius. Where's this? I have been wanting to take some nice winter of our area, just haven't been able to do so. Link to comment
ada-ipenburg 0 Posted February 19, 2006 Wonderful and interesting shot Julius. Interesting because of the angle in it and wonderful because of the by snow covered trees. What I also like is the little red detail in it which attracts the attention. Very well done Julius! Warm greetings, Ada:~) Link to comment
Jebamony 3 Posted February 20, 2006 Thank You. Sachin, did you miss the great opportunity we had? This was a private road, hidden deep inside a Catholic Church's property. Dear Ada, I am so glad you liked the shot. Now, don't go wondering how this will look in the middle of the summer! Thank you again. Link to comment
