rejith 1 Posted February 12, 2006 A picture of a jumper from Idre Fj䬬, Sweden ... Comments and criticisms are welcome .. Link to comment
hondo 0 Posted February 13, 2006 Timing is everything. The person and the tree meet at the exact time you took the shot. I think the photograph would have been perfect if the skier was in his/her own air space. Still a great action shot. 6/6 Link to comment
rejith 1 Posted February 13, 2006 Leon, Thanks for the comment ... I was standing around 400 m away at the only allowed place close to the jump pit, so altering the angle to render the jumper a free space was impossible ... I to really wish the same ... Link to comment
rjsc 0 Posted February 13, 2006 This a great shot. More than the skyer I love the shadow. I think it's at least half the shot. Maybe getting the subject on his own space would look great but in IMHO that would be just another sky shot and (from the mentioned angle) the title wouldn't be possible :) Link to comment
rejith 1 Posted February 13, 2006 Dear Rui, Thanks for your kind words -- This one and in my portfolio .. On my reply to Leon, I didnt mean that I wish I got the other shot instead of this one ... I like shadows very much and this one made it for me .. But it would have been nice to get another shot with free space for the jumper too ... Matter of fact, I have an whole series this time, will try to post some of them soon ... Thanks for your time .. Link to comment

mdd1 0 Posted February 14, 2006 what a wonderful photo! I'm going to Austria next week and hope to make some nice snow-shots. Perhaps you can give me some advice on the lighting? Your snow is really white and your sky is blue :) and i will have serious trouble to achieve that :) Regards, M Link to comment
rejith 1 Posted February 15, 2006 I am extremely happy that you liked this photo. As for giving the tips, I do not qualify to that I am afraid, as I lack the experience severely :-)) Bcz I am very serious in my introduction that I am a newly born baby into the photography field .. The lights at that day was spectacular, it was knee deep loose snow and perfect sunny day, so the only thing I needed to do is to move away from the sunlight path and stand with the sun on my right hand side, and avoiding the reflection was not a problem either, as the contrast of snow with the perfect blue sky was enough ... I dont know if I am saying it the correct way ... I think anything you feel interesting about this shot, the nature did it for me, I just needed to choose a 1/500 s to catch the fast movement, put an f 7.1 and click ... Thanks for the comment and eagerly waiting for your Austrian trip photos ... please let me know about youtr trip, how did it go I mean, when you are back and stay safe .. Link to comment
