dilip_kumar_singha 0 Posted February 12, 2006 Beautiful photograph. Excellent angle, sharpness, light, color & (may be) cropping. Congratulation! Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted February 12, 2006 Nice detail, & composition. I tend to want to bump up the saturation of the red a little. I guess for drama. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted February 12, 2006 Yes, well framed, and well lit. I like how you've cropped it ... with the beak lending a strong diagonal. This is very nice! Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted February 13, 2006 Very good composition, light and details. The black background enhances the beauty of this image. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 13, 2006 I like black backgrounds with animal pictures and this one lent itself to easily doing that. There was another pelican just above this one and it was distracting. Link to comment
jasonwilliamsphotography 0 Posted February 13, 2006 Nice shot, I would probably increase the saturation slighty to inhance the features.. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 14, 2006 I actually did increase the saturation somewhat - maybe I didn't go quite far enough. I didn't want it too 'fake' looking. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 15, 2006 It's wonderful! Your animal portraits are so striking and bold...I love the dark backgrounds, too. Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted February 15, 2006 You're not going to tell me that this guy flew into your backyard, too. The saturation is fine; the detail is staggering. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 15, 2006 Thanks to all of you for taking the time to comment. Mark, this guy was down at the pier downtown. We went there a couple of weeks ago when the shrimp boats came in. We have so many pelicans down here, it's just not a challenge to get a picture of one. They are such clumsy birds, but very interesting, I think. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 15, 2006 I would never get tired of watching them! We even have a few in Utah, but I don't see them too often. I think they're fascinating. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 15, 2006 They are fascinating, Kim. I never get tired of taking pictures of them, especially these brightly colored ones. Link to comment
