aepelbacher 0 Posted February 12, 2006 Another from the second street market group of shots. Fun on a snowy day in DC before I decide to try my luck out on the roads and attempt to head downtown for some pictures of snowy monuments. :-) What are your thoughts? Link to comment
ivan colman 0 Posted February 12, 2006 Great composition very well suported by the colors. Attractive image. Maybe some more sharpness in the left part ? (smaller diafragm - larger A-number?) Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted February 12, 2006 Thanks for your visit, Ivan. I guess that's truly the question here. On several of my recent images, the soft focus has DEFINITELY been an issue. But on this one, I might tend to be okay with it on the left because the focus seems dead-on on the right, and I don't want there to be two main subjects, but a prominent and then a supporting one. Is this an solitary opinion, or is the vote split? Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted February 12, 2006 I agree wiith you Lou Ann on this focus. Interesting angle on the shot. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 13, 2006 Lou Ann, nice colors and subject, I tryed to play with cropping in order to give more prominence to the sharp side, I hope you don't mind. what do you think? Pnina Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted February 13, 2006 I LOVE your crop, Pnina!!! Thanks for sharing it!! I'll have to consider that when I go to print that one! Link to comment
cjrupp 0 Posted February 14, 2006 I like the crop also Lou, but I'd rather have the shellfish and let you shoot the empty box. Grinning. The only thing I find missing is a little olive oil, some fresh rosemary and garlic. Link to comment
kleintje 0 Posted February 14, 2006 I like the contrast between the colours a lot here, but I tend to prefer the crop Pnina did since then the in-focus part gets more attention and the OOF part is not too big it could become distracting. The crop also puts the separation between the two boxes away from the middle of the photo. Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted February 15, 2006 I kind of like Pnina's crop on this one. I think selective focus with shallow d.o.f. might work best for this capture. I like the colorful shrimps however. Makes me hungry now. ^_^ Link to comment
