Dr. Nuckolls hasn't been around for over fifty years, but this remnant

of his second floor office still remains.

I really like it. Today I found old abandoned house near town. I think I can challenge to same type of image. =)

I really like this image as well. Its projects a really unique mood. The compostion is right on~!! The only thing i may of done diff would to be to darken it a bit, but thats my preference. Its works well contrasty as well. Very nice~!!

Your comment on a picture of mine led me to your portfolio, which is unfortunate. I can't seem to get enough of this photo, and I keep coming back to it. The lighting gives it an appropriate ghostlike feel. The angles, the depth. It's just good, real good.

You have several of my favorite photos in your portfolio. One of my alltime favorites is the old gentleman in "Getting the Mail." I imagine we have kind of similar tastes from what I can see. One thing I can say in all honesty, is that I have really enjoyed your work, and I do not say that just because you wrote something nice, since I had long ago put you on my favorites list. Thanks again for the visit and the comments. Take care.

I like the old building and placement of the doors to add atmosphere to the scene. Great shadows and light. Sondra

this is a nice composition. The doors crisscrossing and creating areas of various light. The strong light coming through the gap between the door and the doorframe on the right, the wooden floor and dirty walls - it all really creates a feeling of long time no visitors. Even the name "Nuckolls" sounds like something from an old movie. I know, I know, this is one of your earlier images posted on PNet...and I'm getting to it now. This would look good on a large-large print. So you're leaving on your X-country tour very soon, eh? Cheers, Micheal

Thanks little buddy. This one hangs in my den, so it is obviously one of my early favs.

Sunday is D day. I've got a case of V8 ready to go, and what seems like ten thousand pounds of crap ready to go. The wife is thinking there is still room for the kitchen sink, but I'm standing firm.

maybe you could take a good abstract photo of all the stuff you stuff into your truck, including the truck.

It's a terrible thought not to be able to see new D.M. images for so long...what will I do? Maybe flush the grief and sadness with cases upon cases of V8 juice. Yeap, that's sounds good...I'm renting a 5-ton truck, and will stack them on my balcony. BTW, if I may ask, how does your wife see your photographic endevours?...I mean stopping here and there and waiting while you shoot. So have a good and safe trip and lots & lots of pretty photos ;-) Cheers, Micheal

I'm sure you will get along just fine without DM pics. But I do hope to post some as I go. Just depends on how lucky I am at finding free wireless.

The wife, while normally not the most patient person in the world, is pretty understanding when it comes to my photography. She likes traveling, so that's not a problem, and she takes a book and reads while I pursue my quest for insanity (or should that be inanity?) So it works out pretty well. We certainly have never been able to take a trip of this length, but I think we shall be just fine.

Not to worry, my friend. We will remain in touch.

How cool is this!!! I love this shot! I could see it framed in my office and it would make me smile every day. Great work, David!

Yes, I have been blessed (actually, since I'm not religious, the word should be lucky) to have been in some places that anyone could make good photos of. Somebody on Pnet once said, "Even a blind pig finds an acorn now and then." I'll take that as a good explanation for whatever success I've had.

Great Shot David.

You've captured an aura... silence broken with sounds of steps on wooden floor. I love what you did with Light by opening the doors... Looks to me like you've spent there few good minutes to find what you sensed was there... :)

congrats.

There is a sense of mistery in your interpretation.

Regards :)

Thank you very much. This old building (the upstairs portion anyway) has been abandoned for over fifty years. and the Dr. that practiced here died in the 1940's. The signs that once hung over his door was just laying there, and it was/is an eerie place. I took a lot of pictures in this building, including several nudes and the one of the man half there in a chair.
