Mama's Helper

Saw this lovely young girl helping her mum and sisters sell clothes

along the streets in downtown Medan. A true reality in life which

fortunate teenagers now should experience to understand the hardship

of living the ordinary life.

I enjoy the lively contrast, her shirt is a spot of light against the almost gloomy background. I get a sense of hope, that even thoough she has it pretty tough right now, she will not become just a fading figure in the blurring background of life...or better yet, I pray she won't become that! Very beautiful picture!

For this image I like to get to know people like that and take some time to mingle with the family. When they are more relaxed taking photos is no problem once the trust is there. Here is a shot of the family. You can see their genuine pleasure in working together. So different from families who have it all and keep to their own private cubicle.
