rkyobo 0 Posted February 9, 2006 This is a really nice photo, Laurie! I love the rectangular tunnel effect and the shadowing....great work! 6/7 Link to comment
rafikrkamel 1 Posted February 9, 2006 Nice shot however IMHO i would prefer to see that person according to teh rule of thirds in the frame and not in the center of the frame. Good job and best regards! Link to comment
rkyobo 0 Posted February 10, 2006 Sometimes it's good to break the rules a little bit. :) I also prefer centered sunsets sometimes when there's someone silouetted in it. Check my sunset photos out in my portfolio. I think this is a really great photo...very aesthetically pleasing! Link to comment
lauriee 0 Posted February 10, 2006 Thanks! You know what bothers me about this photo? The white bag he is carrying!LOL...I figured it would be the thing most mentioned because to me it is a huge eye sore! LOL..So I'm surprised that the centering of the Marine is troublesome. I actually like him there because of the ridgedness of the shapes and lines and the ridgedness of his demeanor. It's fun to see the prespective of others! Laurie Link to comment
tom t 0 Posted February 19, 2006 This one is well seen and well done. The centering does not bother me; besides, he rule of thirds is a guideline, not a dogma. Here it doesn't appy, I think. I do agree the white bag is a bit of an eye sore. As for eye sores, I would also crop a tiny little bit on the bottom; the shadow you have there is awfully tight. Regards, Tom Link to comment
lauriee 0 Posted February 19, 2006 Thanks Tom...Well here's the deal with cropping and maybe I'm doing something wrong. Believe it or not I cropped quite a bit..I just couldn't seem to get it line up right. If I cut off the shadow the bright part looked off balance...so finally I gave up. Any suggestions?
