During the migration, many zebras lag behind and at times they stop at water holes to eat

and drink. In this case, we found several hundred zebras feeding in a tall-grass sabana of the

Serengeti near Seronera. They seemed all too busy to mind our presence and I was able to

catch them all with their heads down feeding. It was a lucky shot since there is always one or

two looking up and around for possible predators, specially in this tall grass sabana.

Great ass shot! Have you tried doing a version that crops out all the sky and greenery and perhaps even a tiny slice of the upper grasses?

Hi Jim: Thanks for your comment. Yes, I have tried the cropped version. I included the ski on purpose to show a sense of space and location (grassy sabana with the hills, typical of the Serengeti). The cropped version is just above the tree that you see in the horizon. I wanted to include the tree and show the end of the sabana. The tree gives a sense of distance as well.

Every body that sees this picture always makes a comment on the "cropped" vs. "no Cropping" and it is splitted 50/50. I will be interested what others think.

Thanks again.

Cesar.

I guess it depends on what you are going for with the crop - artsy (without sky and top of hills) or more documentary (with complete surroundings). I like both. Interesting shot of zebra butts!
