Excellent picture with the unique "Birgis-Sky".

I did not know that the romans have been also in Iceland! :-)))

Nice capture, Baldur. Well seen, I took a few moments to recognize the numbers. Except for filling the blue sky area, the clouds anchor well the composition. Best regards. Peter

Many thanks for your thoughts. Glad you like it.

The German name of this mountain is "Weisskittel". I am not sure about the Englishn version. The Romans seems to have been here in IIXI ?! .. :-)))) Greetings Baldur

Thank you Peter for your visit and comment. This mountain is hard to photograph. Every year since 2000, I have been trying to capture it perfectly. Most often there are no clouds in the sky above it or the sky is full of clouds. I have been trying all kind of lenses like 17mm, 20mm, 24mm, 28mm and 35mm. The way past by, is rather steep and the shape of the mountain is very different compared to chosen angle of view. I like this viewpoint and this is my best resault so far. I did not made a photo of it last year because of weather conditions. One dear friend of mine who live close to this area asked me a following question: "Baldur, why do you always take photos of this mountain every time when you are here in a visit ? I have only one photo of this mountain and that is perfectly enough !"

I just want to remind that image is for some reason better in Larger version because of some compression effeft in normal size. Best regards, Baldur

An outstanding photo and an imaginative title. The XI stands out although the II looks more like a V from this angle.

A really great photo.

I like the sweep of the 'Roman digits' and the scree slope below it. How about a shot using the rocks of the scree slope in close foreground as leading lines?
