carl smith 0 Posted October 26, 2001 Let me know what you think of this photograph. This is not my first macro shot, but I don't have much experience with it so I'm looking for comments and suggestions. Link to comment

mark_crame1 0 Posted March 13, 2002 Nice image. well composed, great colours, and the ladybird looks really good where it is positioned. A really good shot. Link to comment
david_goldfarb 1 Posted March 27, 2002 One of the strongest images in your gallery here. Good use of a high-saturation film and strong composition. This is one of those shots where bracketing in 1/3 stops can make a huge difference. It would be good to see a bit more shadow detail, but you wouldn't want to lose the intensity of the yellow. carl smith 0 Posted March 28, 2002 I believe at the time of scanning, I didn't have the chance to get a few of the brackets of this scanned in. As I remember it is bracked +1 and -1 stops in 1/3 stop increments. Unfortunately I forget which this is. If I get a chance to rescan I may try to work it better. It's been one of my favorites as well. Link to comment
david_goldfarb 1 Posted March 28, 2002 Sometimes a slide that looks slightly overexposed on the light table makes a better scan with a desktop scanner, I find. Between the narrow range of slide film and the narrow range of the scanner, it can be a challenge to get everything you want in there. Link to comment
ezzz 0 Posted April 2, 2002 I don't know what to say about the photo but it works for me. Being at the half of your portfolio, it is the one I prefer for the moment. Link to comment
noahbryant 0 Posted May 29, 2002 Perfect photo, everything is right on except maybe the ladybug could have been redder, but I guess that's not your fault so I woun't fault you on that. I love the DOF too. Link to comment
carl smith 0 Posted May 29, 2002 i tried different adjustments, but found that whatever I did either blew the bug away by the petals, or the bugs which highlight just went too bright, so it's pretty much left as is. You should see this at 20". :) Link to comment
