manuelbalea 0 Posted February 2, 2006 I like the old photos and this one has more of a century...when this photo was made my grandmother would have in Spain the same age of those children... Fantastic. Greetings. Link to comment
stormphotonet 1 Posted February 5, 2006 Did not know what category to put this in so I put it in Time Travel It is a photo of the family farm in northern Oklahoma The best I can date it is 1903 hope you like it Link to comment
sergej_lopatin 0 Posted February 5, 2006 I like old photos. They often set a very high standards on the quality, resolution and composition. Nice idea to show "oldies"! Regards. Link to comment
michaelhills 0 Posted February 5, 2006 Kenneth, this photo really appeals to me - can't really say why - it just does. Was it in this format originally, or did you crop it? What i like best is the (closest to viewer) little girl's stance and expression - she looks like she is a real character. Do you know who she is? M :) Link to comment
stormphotonet 1 Posted February 5, 2006 I cropped some from the sky The little girl that is standing is my grandmother Link to comment
reddoor 0 Posted February 5, 2006 I really love this photograph Ken. I think the hardships of the pioneering peoples would be common to that part of America and my part of Australia (ofteb weather related). I have some photographs of our farm from that period but none near the composition or quality of this image. I hope you get this photograph fully restored, it really is excellent. Photographs speak to to the future and this one does it very well. Link to comment

michaelhills 0 Posted February 6, 2006 Kenneth, with respect, may I ask if your grandmother has seen this image? If she has, I wonder what thoughts and stories she would have revealed... it is a fascinating image... I wholeheartedly agree with Chris. M :) Link to comment
stormphotonet 1 Posted February 6, 2006 Michael, yes she has and the stores I have and are now teaching my grandkids the stores from the farm. She has been departed for about 15 years now and I have been in trusted with this and family stores and other stuff from the farm and will pass this on one day to my grandkids. I also have the land papers to the farm from 1898. I feel very lucky to have these things to hand down and hopefully they will be passed down for many generations! Thank you all very much for all your kind comments. I am very happy to get to share this with you. My very best to you all! Ken Link to comment

dusty2004 0 Posted January 8, 2007 Hello Kenneth. I have always had a liking for old photographs. Maybe somewhere deep inside of me is a desire to return to the days where we stopped and had time for each other. To simply stop and talk, to greet and to care. Thank you for sharing this with us. It reminds me of my younger days spending time with my grandparents. Cheers. Link to comment

snapshooter 0 Posted March 25, 2007 Certainly is a wonderful keepsake and family history, Kenneth. I can almost see the photographer, with his view camera and black cloth, and telling everyone to be very still. Link to comment
