Exciting, intriguing, and contains the kind of impact that makes creating imagery fun! Love what you've done here; flow, color, and motion and you break through the traditional boundaries on the left side of the image. Outside of the box!

Thank you everyone. After many hours, many layers, countless manipulations and lots of hemming and hawing, wondering if I should even post it. I've looked at it so much I couldn't even say if it was good or not anymore. Ah! being an artist is soooo hard... just kidding. ;-)) It was fun to create these "dancing flames", thanks again for taking the time to visit with me.

Hi! Love the "flames"! :) Looks like you had some fun with this. Eyecatching and pleasing. Well done! Leslie

Leslie and Jerry for your encouraging comments.

Jerry, I used many different tools here, shearing and perspective for the shape and then an edge detect tool as well. It was a learning experience for sure. Some people are a lot better at this than I am and I hope to improve my skills. I used the same photo as this in posting http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3124031

I think it's time to go look for another subject. I do enjoy the creative side of things and I feel there is room for improvement.

David and Philip for the nice comments.

Philip, you are so right! I know Kim Slonaker's work very well and her "Distorted Flower Series" is what prompted me to try this in the first place. She is a great photographer and artist and my inspiration.

I don't have the slightest clue to what you have done here, but it definitely gave a great and intriguing result! Difficult to take my eyes off it...

Hi Isle! I think I was up to 13 layers in this creation. It is the same pansy as in this photo http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3124031

It's one pansy repeated over and over again after using the perspectives tool to alter the shape and then resizing and placing it accordingly. It was a slow process as I used the "undo" function a whole lot too!! I'm still learning and would like to improve too. I'm really glad you dropped by and glad you like the photo.

Nice to see you Alexandra and appreciate your observation. I'm glad you found my composition harmonious, it's a great compliment, thanks.

Kim, the colors are very elegant. The reds are so rich and I love the backgroung color.

The composition though, is not working for me. Something about the flow and space distribution that stops me from focusing on any part of this image long enough.

As a vertical though, it works much better for me. It gives me a better pattern and a much better flow. What do you think?

I like the vertical idea, too! If you let your imagination go, it could be several young girls with their hair blowing in the breeze! :) Just a thought! Leslie

Cyrus and Leslie for a different point of view. You know when you start these things you never know what you are going to end up with. I could have gone vertical too.
