AJHingel 127 Posted January 30, 2006 This photo of a waterway was taken a late night in Venice - a taxi went by. The colours are geniun and not artifacts from Photoshop... Link to comment
bille 0 Posted January 30, 2006 A very traditional subject presented in a very untraditional way due to the light and beautiful colours. The traces of light from the boat adds to the composition. Well done, Anders. Link to comment

AJHingel 127 Posted April 27, 2006 Thanks to all of you your comments. Sorry for coming back so late. The strange thing about this shot is that it is very little worked on in Photoshop, but came out of the box like that ! Pure luck, more than skills. I would have difficulty of repeating it I think. carsten_ranke 0 Posted October 15, 2006 It is the mixture of artificial light and late evening hues (just the right intensity, matter of timing). Kind of "Venice colors on steroids", love it. And a nice lead-in from the taxi lights, well composed. Great night shot ! Link to comment
Todd Kowalski 1 Posted November 4, 2006 Anders, it is easy to see, "Photography is not my profession but a way of life", and also a great passion with you. You have a keen eye and a very good sense of what a "Good" photograph is. I really enjoy your work, and I totally agree with your statement through to my heart. Carry on my friend, carry on....Regards, Todd Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted November 5, 2006 Carsten thanks for your comments that I sem to missed, but see them now. I'm not sure I love these colours for a place like Venice, but the photo is great. This i one of these photos where I would not write "Venice" as title because it is,k in my view, so little representative of the city although it is as genuine as I saw it. Another dimension of the traditional story, that I don't dare mentioning elsewhere on PN when it comes to true registrations and manipulated photos. Thanks for your support. Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted November 5, 2006 Todd, thanks for your very nice words. One thing is of course for me to say that "photography is a way of life" another to be able to show it to others by my work. The test of fire is, at the end of the day, whether what I succeed to show by photographs is relevant to others than to myself. Therefore, when you write that you have enjoyed my portfolio and when you invite me to continue doing what I'm doing you give me the greatest support. Thank you Todd for these comments that means much to me. Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted January 23, 2007 Thanks Roger. What is extraordinary about the scene is that it is real. No artificial elements have been introduced. Link to comment
aginbyte 0 Posted February 26, 2007 ... a Venice I have never seen, certainly. All the beautiful primary colors on the walls, reflected in the water, it is all so tranquil and then we have the moving lights of the water taxi speeding by, but with barely a ripple in the water. I like the contradictions. Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted February 27, 2007 Yes Denis it is a case of straight photography of an unreal world. That it happens in Venice which doesn't need any tricks makes the contradictions of the scene so much more spectacular. Link to comment
CharlesBecker-Toronto 5 Posted March 16, 2012 woah nelly-this is just spectacular (and better than anything I ever got in Venice!). a 7 all the way.congratulations on this remarkable image.Man! cb :-0) Link to comment
