The female P. wahlbergii mantis once again. The use of this flower

for the background as well as as a support of my model is

experimental. The common name of the mantis is spiny flower mantis,

after all. So, what do you think of the result? (my friend just told

me that the flower "looks somewhat obscene". Some people...)

have no words. what a great sharp result, and the red background gives the right revenge stile passion to it. would not change a thing.

I'm an amateur, in no way on par with the shots I see on here so I usually don't comment. I've been looking at the macro photos for ideas on lenses - what seems to be working well and a lot of folks use. I just have to say...wow. A beautiful creature, incredibly captured!

This is the BEST. Composition, color, detail, form, beauty, etc., etc., Thanks for taking it for us to enjoy. 7/7 if not more. Eddie

greay picture!,, I can see where it could be called to look obscene, the flower part (stamen?) that the mantis is sitting on looks a bit phallic with the red back ground just enhances that idea I think. but the matis itself is a bit intimidating. anyway, the detail makes this a great photo to study, and enjoy.

I have seen many fantastic images on this site over the past several years that I've been browsing/posting here, but this one is beyond everything I've seen up to now...and that's saying plenty given the level of talent that resides here on photo.net. I am utterly stunned....GREAT WORK!!!!!!
