namurray 0 Posted January 30, 2006 This shy, elusive and threatened species has only a few habitats left in Australia. I photographed this one in the wild at Warren Gorge near Quorn in South Australia. Taken at dusk after a lot of stalking. Luckily this one hopped up onto the sunlit rock and looked at me. namurray 0 Posted January 30, 2006 Thanks for the comment Mark. They'r quite small compared to some other wallabies. This one is about 2 to 2.5 feet high and would weigh about 20 pound or so. Link to comment
joanbn 0 Posted May 25, 2006 Too bad you couldn't get the full tail. Great capture... Link to comment
namurray 0 Posted May 27, 2006 Thanks Joan. Actually when I look back at the original photo I did capture the full tail. For some reason I cropped some of it out in the upload. Kind regards, Neil Link to comment
fotoscopio 0 Posted July 22, 2006 Well captured mate, I agree that it would look better with the whole tail in frame. Love the dark bacground. Link to comment

stupski 0 Posted January 20, 2007 There's enough tail here for me to get the picture. Very well composed, good lighting, sharpness and detail. Very nice! What a beautiful creature. The range of browns/russets is quite lovely. Link to comment
namurray 0 Posted January 20, 2007 Thanks D.L. They are my favourite wallaby. Very very few left now; very few habitats left for them; and they are so vulnerable. But there are programs underway to conserve the species. I hope they are successful as it would be ineffably sad to lose these beautiful animals. Kind regards, Neil Link to comment
