archiva 0 Posted January 30, 2006 Great job Alexandre... I like the way the umbrella covers the clouds:) Very methaphorical... I like the strong lines and trajectories... I am only a bit distracted with the letters on the closest wall... 6/6 Link to comment
CharlesBecker-Toronto 5 Posted January 30, 2006 a masterpiece. 7/7..it's worth more. cb Link to comment
james_desantis 0 Posted January 30, 2006 Very nice!! I like the contrast of the clouds and the forboding nature their tonal differences portray. Congrats, its a great shot!! Link to comment
sarahunderhill 1 Posted January 30, 2006 Great! A lot going on here, the walls the clouds, shapes, lines and perfect composition with the umbrella. Well done! Link to comment
dguindon 0 Posted January 31, 2006 Good positioning and people to cloud contrast. Little less fg design? Link to comment

alexguerra 0 Posted January 31, 2006 Thanks everyone for your comments and attention, truly appreciated! About those paintings; those walls belong to a skating park and they are almost completely covered with graffiti (Don, is this what you meant with fg design?...). This person, older than the usual hang outers of such a place, was standing there and caught my eye as there was no rain falling. Link to comment
someoneelse 1 Posted February 1, 2006 Totaly amazing photo, for me this a 7/7 and I know numbers doesn't say a lot, but it means excellent. And GREAT to hear your story about not raining and umbrella, older person on a place for younger people. Els Link to comment
ruinog 0 Posted February 1, 2006 Excellent b&w composition with a good impact. Contrast helps here. Muito boa imagem. Gosto do contraste que lhe da grande imapcto Link to comment
seven 0 Posted February 2, 2006 Love the diagonals & mood. I'm okay with the wall scrawl but might think about cropping from right - so that the centre wall doesn't end to our eyes. Link to comment
alexguerra 0 Posted February 4, 2006 Els, thank you so much, coming from such a creative person as you those numbers are certainly a great compliment! Laura, Rui, R.C., thanks for your time to comment, much appreciated. Seven, I also thought about that possibility. Or perhaps I may clone the wall expanding it further until the edge. Thanks for the tip. Don, some graffitis look really great, but I guess those scratches aren't really a good example of such ones. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 20, 2006 I really love the tonality of this. The image as a whole is really kool.. Its makes one think, which is a great quallity when an image can say something just by a view.. Very Nice WP Link to comment
alexguerra 0 Posted February 22, 2006 Weston, that's also what I think, so I'm glad it worked and made you think. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted March 20, 2006 All you need here imo are better tones. Shadows are too dark. You could use here a brighter original and then try to apply the technique we discussed via email. Or you could start from the color file. You can email it to me if you like (although I might be away for a couple of days). Otherwise, I like the graphics and the 3 big clouds - sorry, I meant the two big clouds and the third circle, which is the umbrella..:-) Link to comment
alexguerra 0 Posted March 27, 2006 Marc, I really look forward for any advises on the brightness of the tones of my pictures, as for now I can only use my crappy laptop screen to edit my photos. This is a good example, as in there it looks ok, but then in a normal monitor often looks so different. I already tried your technique on this, but just for a short time and the results were not very good. Still need to get more time to practise it. Link to comment
blowingsky 0 Posted April 13, 2006 This image grabs my heart and reminds me what living is like in a world constructed entirely of vision and viewpoint. Really, really love it. If I ran a tour bus that drove through the best of Photo.Net, this would be one of the favorite stops. Link to comment
esau_b. 0 Posted April 17, 2006 Beautiful image you've captured. IMO the writing or graffitti on the bottom right hand corner is a little distracting. Also, the empty space behind the graffitti and the umbrella holder IMO would look better croppped as well. Great composition. Link to comment
alexguerra 0 Posted April 20, 2006 Peter, I'm flattered that you've chosen my photo as one of the stops for your bus =) Esau, I also like your crop. Thanks for leaving your suggestions. Link to comment
