Waiting at the Diner

I like the feel of this shot. It captures the diners' sense of place well, but I would like to see the rest of the frame where the waitress is looking. The dishes add to the feeling, but they are burned out, and the counter leads my eye into the shot well, but my first impression is "What is she looking at?". I think if the highlights were not burned out and the rest of the frame were there in front of the waitress this would be a stronger image.
