People do wait in the strangest of places. I thought I would try to photograph this.

Feedback appreciated.

Should there be anyone looking for my more daring work, you can always do a search for me on photopoints or photosig where I have uploaded some of my deleted images and where I will be uploading more soon.

...7/7. Have you considered doing more abstract-like work. You appear to be good at it. I really, really love this. Regards, Kelvin.

Sorry, my English is bad. I like, the idea is very good and seems me original. The colors seem me smooth and wise. A little clarity lacks him. In general, good photo.

A greeting.

David, Did you convince this girl to stand perfectly still? This appeals to me a lot. I love the story it's telling. The way the blurred people are moving around her is waht really makes this dynamic.

What are the little dots on the right. Is it just a pattern in the floor?

I love it. Very original. Maybe a little bit saturated, but all in all very very nice. I like it telling a story.

Laurie, I think the dots on the floor are reflections from the overhead lighting. This is really a good one David. Where were you? Third level with a zoom? The perspective seems impossible for you to be anywhere on the stairs/escalator.

John, You have given me something to do. Let me see what I can come up with.

Kelvin, A very interesting comment. I do actually like doing abstract, still life and amusing nudes. Most of my 'amusing nudes' were removed from the site and so I guess I will be posting more abstract and still life here than I used to. I am not always a good judge of my own photos. I guess that is why I post them on photo.net. I actually thought 'Holes of light' was a very good image but it didn't attract any attention. On the other hand I thought 'Focal Points' was mildly amusing and wouldn't attract too much attention. Then you have 'A plate of colour' which seems to fit somewhere in the middle. Thanks a lot.

Pedro, Thanks a lot. I hope you understand my reply. The image could be sharper. It was taken in a shopping mall. I would have been asked to leave if I had been seen taking this. The camera is not on a tripod and so is not as clear as I would have liked it. I think that is why I have waited over 3 years to upload it.

Laurie, How could you say such a thing? She just happened to be waiting there! You do believe me don't you??? Knicki has answered your query about the white dots to the right!

Esteve, Your comment and the comments of others has encouraged me to do more of these!

Knicki, To the left and right of the 3 escalators you can see are two other escalators going up (and down) to a much higher level. I am directly between them looking down.

Sarah, Thanks.

Thanks everyone. I am surprised by the amount of positive feedback this shot has received.

...Thanks for giving me a guided tour through your abstract collection. I like them alot. Certainly, they attest to your versatility as a photographer. I will comment individually on each one in the near future. Well done. Regards, Kelvin.

A fascinating study of motion around a stationary hub. I hope he,or she, would not mind being called a hub. In any event, a great image with great color that you would see but I would not.

Alex, I would have thought you knew that nothing stands still in Hong Kong. Seriously thanks for stopping by.

Kelvin, Thanks again! In posting the links, I was showing you my inability to gauge my own photographs. Please do not feel you have to critique them.

Owen, I am sure she would not mind you calling her a hub but having doubt about the sex of said hub is another matter. I will let you know what she thinks about your comment when she has seen it. Thanks Owen! Just teasing you!

i have tried this several times without success, as the person waiting is too blurred no matter how much breath i hold and moopod i use. congrats on a fine capture, with a clever composition, her being in the upper third and the swirls occurring around her.

i'm also wondering if you considered a black and white version. with the predominance of blue and tan, one or another of the channel conversions might yield something interesting. just a thought.

David, I know you've been trying to achieve this motion vs. stationary image for a while. I would say you have finally succeeded big time! ^_^

Ben, You may have tried several times without success to get a shot similar to this. I have tried 100s of times and even now I am not happy with this one. I really never considered black and white for this. I rarely play with photoshop. Thanks for your suggestions.

Wilson, It is true I am fascinated with movement. I do also like the idea of movement and still. I think this could be better but I do like it. I am very glad that you do too.

Fabulous concept juxtaposing the static with the dynamic. That you got so much detail handheld is a minor miracle.I love the swirls of flowing motion : the "hub" is an integral part of the image and yet she seems so alien, the odd one out. Superb.

Jana, I try to see as many photographs on this site (an others) as I can. I am of the opinion there is more talent I don't know about than talent I do. Thanks for stopping by this one.

Seven, Your comment makes me very happy. This is an old image but it is one I like. There was a lot of luck in getting this image. Perhaps not a minor miracle. Having said that, I did visit this place yesterday and I am fairly sure I could not repeat this. Thanks a lot.
