LenMarriott 9 Posted January 30, 2006 Anders, A most excellent composition. The diagonal line formed by the lamp posts mirrors the diagonal line formed by your subject. Just enough shadow detail in the foreground to keep it from becoming a black hole and the interesting cloud patterns in the sky keep that from becoming an otherwise large & boring area. Since the triangular structure overlaps the main building, visually it becomes a part of that building and it's central location is appropriate. (unlike a scene where it stands alone and is centrally placed) Good job, I say. Best, LM. Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted January 30, 2006 I'm sure that many would look at this as anything but "original". The scene is one the most photgraphed in the world - that's where the challenge lays. What do you think? Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted February 20, 2006 Sorry Len I have not yet thanked you for your comments and your very pertinant analysis. I also see this as fairly good picture, and I think it works well in BW. The colour version has one advantage though. In the middle of the picture in front of the pyramide a mother and child in strong colours animate the scene. However I like the lack of animation of the bW version. Anders Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted February 5, 2008 as a Paris fan I know that it takes a lot of creativity to find an original angle on all those touristic highlights, but here that's just what you succesfully did. It's a great composition. However, I think if you would improve the contrast it would be even better because now it's a little too grey for my taste. Wouldn't have minded tough to have made it myself. Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted February 5, 2008 Thanks Ton. I see the grey tones but did not increase the contrast not to make the shadow areas to prominent. I could of course select the lighter areas and increase contrast there. Thanks for your good comment. Link to comment
gungajim 75 Posted November 22, 2014 This is indeed a fresh approach to the subject. A pat on the back for you. Link to comment
