Light in Dark II. Another angle of view. The grass was selected for a little more contrast. Special thanks to Palmi Bjarnason and Sigrun Kristjansdottir. Copyright: Baldur Birgis

Light in Dark II. Another angle of view and different working method

than in previous version. Because of intended exhibition, which one

is better ? Thanks in advance for your time and thoughts.

Baldur, the lighting is much better here. A fine contribution to your series.

Best regards, Michael

Excellent landscape. Artful composition, the lighting and exposure (and contrast for the foreground) are perfect IMO. It has a slightly unreal feeling because the vignetting implies backlight, not fitting to the chapel being lit more from the right side. The flowers, then, make the lighting feel coherent (if that makes sense)

Carsten, many thanks for your comment. I agree with you. I also felt the flowers like parishioners on their way to the church !

To me this version looks more optimistic than the first version. I guess which you choose for an exhibition depends on the effect you want to make and the balance of the shots overall. I agree with Carsten about it looking rather surreal because of the lighting.

Colin, many thanks for your thoughts. The images are different. I selected this one for the exhibition because the light is stronger on the church and the flowers are more effetive here. Best regards, Baldur.

Great image, very dramatic, gives me the right feel over the Iceland rough nature, even if this is in spring with flowers everywhere. The wild mood prevails.. cheers Jana

Jana, many thanks for your visit and thoughts. This shot was made late in July. The sky was covered with clouds. Suddenly the sun made a small breakthrough. Down behind the church is an old cemetery. Down steep below it is the beach and the Atlatic Ocean which is slowly breaking down the cemetery in the winter time. It is possible to walk on a thin trail below the cemetery (be careful) and sometimes view human bones standing out of the mould "wall". I have seen it myself ! Cheers, Baldur
