Ferris Wheel

F/22 or f/16 @ around 30 seconds.

bravo john! this is delightful. the colors of course, especially cuz its night, the decision to cut the wheel so it comes out of the frame, the shutter just right so we get some real clarity on the wheel but also some motion blur, the midway sign in the background adding some complexity to the shot, bravo! i can hear the riders screaming . . .

I'm speechless! It's wonderfull!

Great shot John. The low perspective does it for me. I've got some carnival ride photos in my portfolio here on photo.net. I shall peruse more of yours.

The colors are very strong- the fact that the ferris wheel has complimentary colors makes it even better.

I feel that my eye immediately snaps to the right edge of the frame where you have those two bright lights. My suggestion would be to burn it in slightly in post so that my eye can wander around rather than keep going back to the brightest highlights. Also, while your composition is decent in this portrait orientation, it would have been interesting to see the full circle of the ferris wheel so perhaps a landscape orientation would have been better.

I like the composition the way it is.  It's different than the many pictures that I've seen in the past.  It give just enough enfo to show where you are, but also shows the motion of the ferris wheel.
