I agree the composition is unusual, but it works oh so well. The lines created by the rails lead the eye right through to the rest of the image.

I love the angle and the DOF. Nice combination of colors with the red tram poping up. Very good photo!

Very nice photo, Alexandre. Love the feel of the cobblestones and the curves of the rails. The color on the tram sets it apart from its day in/day out route along the tracks. Well done.

Excellent interesting picture through the great point of view. The silvery cobble stones, the difference in height and the swirling rail with the tram as a striking red subject makes this to picture very attractive. I love it Alex, just like your other outstanding work. Many greetings, Ada:~)

This is one of the most interestingly composed images I have seen here in quite some time. Good work!!

Wonderful use of a different perspective, makes for a great "gritty" street composition. The use of the bit of red color and curved lines draws the eye back and forth and makes a wonderful trip for exploration and creativity.

Looks like I found this shot a little late. Sorry. Anyway, excellent composition at that low angle to give us the curved and detailed lines of the track..so monochrome and intersting (though a little cramped on the left) leading off and into the unseen down-hill and then back up to the nice-and-sharp, colorful tram. Really nice work here!!

so evocative, i can feel myself walking home through this neighborhood as the streetcar pulls away, kicking a rock down the cobblestone for entertainment . . . the repeating semi circles i the foreground and backgroud, your terrific decision to give us a view of somethig familiar from a vantage point we normally do not take, the way you've lined up the foreground and background, the framing of the building -- alexandre, i'm straining to find the photographic intellect to say anything meaningful here, hope this helps, i feel like an undergraduate who's wandered into a graduate seminar.

Thank you so much everyone for commenting. Bill, Scott, Jarek, Keith, Photo fun, Ada, Marco, Laurent, Tim, Rycho, John Peri, Susan, John North and Kalaga, it's a pleasure for me to get some of your attention on this photo, really much appreciated.

Alejandro, what you say it's not negative at all, but helpful. I did use USM on the foreground to make the cobbled stones and the rails to stand out even more. I may have overdone it a bit perhaps. Thank you for pointing that out.

Jeff, it's never too late. About the cramped left side as you noticed; I cloned out a parked car and some concrete blocks that were there. It ended up looking messy there, but hopefully not very noticeable.

Ben, thanks a lot, but I'm just learning the ropes of photography with the help of so many nice and talented photo.net fellows like you. I prefer to think that this was a lucky shot that turned out much better than I would have guessed at the time, as I didn't give so many thoughts at it by then.

A very nostalgic mood. The wide foreground track leading us to the tram & building behind. Very good DOF used.

Alexandre, this is quite simply an excellent shot. I really like the lines and the three distinct regions of the image. Pardon my ignorance is this is obvious to everyone else but is this somewhat desaturated except for the Coke sign? Thanks for sharing this fantastic image.

Cherlyn and Julio thanks for viewing, I appreciate your visits as always.

Charles, be my guest =)

Jamie, I see what you mean. I didn't desaturate the photo, but did some adjustments with curves. This shot was taken right after sunset and everything was getting gloomy grey as it shows, highlighting the single colourful thing that appeared at the moment. Thank you very much for commenting.
