renny 0 Posted January 23, 2006 ...an incredible collection of power! I have had only one such opportunity. I didn't have a camera with me that night and probably would have drenched it and gotten myself killed if I had. Link to comment

leighperry 0 Posted January 23, 2006 That's a great shot Ken. What I like most about it is that the shot stands up as a strong composition despite the obvious wow factor of the subject matter. They way you've used the power lines is brilliant, and the lightning cooperated to surround that main pole perfectly. This shot really conveys the violence of nature superbly. Great work. stormphotonet 1 Posted January 23, 2006 Hello everyone thanks so much for all your kind comments, well it was 60 sec/f-8 at 30mm and about 1 hr after sun set. If I recall right I am getting old! LOL Here is a very good link for lightning photography. Dr Charles Doswell is a researcher that has retired after many years at the NSSL in Norman Oklahoma. Take a look at his work and instruction on shooting lightning. http://www.cimms.ou.edu/~doswell/ltgph.html I am very moved that so many people here with some of the best talent I have seen like my work. You all keep me going and motivated, thank you so much for all your support and happy shooting to you all! All my best to you, Ken Link to comment
