Sad Parade

Shot in early evening on an uncharacteristically hot day (mid 80's in Astoria). Children were marching in children's parade which was delayed for some inexplicable reason. Kids melting and not having a good time. This was shot in the shade of the parking lot where they were sitting.

a "fun" children's parade. Shot in the shade, early evening on hot

day. f8 @250 I think. Developed and printed in my home darkroom.

The composition is good & the expressions are great. But there is loss of detail in the light areas which detracts from an otherwise fine photo.

I really can't believe you'd think that marching your children down a street dressed like that could be considered 'fun'.

seriously, nice photo. captures the essence of parades in general.
