Up and running!

wild nature

ISO 100 - 1/25 sec f/22. I was panning with the lens shoe resting on a beanbag. The light was very bright so I had to use a low ISO setting and high f/stop in order to get a slow shutter speed so I could obtain the panning effect (motion effect).

Young wilder beast calfs have to be up and running in a matter of minutes

after they are born in order to escape from predators and to follow the herds,

which usually create a good form of protection. Most calfs are capable of

running in 10 to 15 minutes after they are born.

An interesting fact is that all of the wilder beast calf are born in a period of only

2 to 4 weeks in a particular year. This hughe number of newborn calf secure

that even when thousands of these fall prey for the many predators that follow

the migrations, still many more will survive to adulthood. It is a matter of

"numbers".
