Thirsty Cardinal

I've been trying to get a good shot of the reflection of a cardinal,

or of one drinking, or of one with good wing movement. I got lucky

and got all three with this shot.

Well you certainly did this time,beautiful shot.

I love this photo! It captures both the movement and the stillness of the bird at the same time. The detailed focus on the cardinal is outstanding. All its different shades are on display but what fascinates me most is the photographer's ability to capture the moment: the water in the beak, the ripples and the reflection all at once.(Patience rewarded). Excellent photo.

Scott what is that attached to this birds beak, it looks like a staple or paper clip?

Great shot with perfect timing, well done. However IMHO if you have used a fill flash (which i humbly think you have) i would say you can try decreasing the exposure comepnsation on the flash a bit more so that it doesnt show on the photo. I may be wrong after all, good job and regards!
