doeke 0 Posted January 21, 2006 It indeed isn't! The space above the head is somehow not unpleasant. In fact I find the photo very good! Link to comment
andyandrews34photo.net 0 Posted January 24, 2006 Sometimes, when I am displeased with my work I go back to it the next day or at another time. My professors taught me that long ago. Let your subconscious digest it a little and it will resonate with or attach to another significance. My impression is one of evocation of an old glass plate photo which has stood the vagaries of time but in which the subject is classic and timeless and speaks to us now. Link to comment

Phil_Light 793 Posted January 27, 2006 Very immediate, no pretense, an in your face image no denial. I also like the flaws and unspotted appearance. There was a photographer I can't remember who, that did a whole cancellation series where he/she scratched or etched off the emulsions from the negative or struck through the negative rendering them permanently "cancelled". It was a very effective series and tests one's attachment to the negative. Because you can no longer create un-cancelled prints from the negative. I still like the film and negative as a medium for image creation and it lends itself well here for this finished image or should I say "unfinished" image? I also respond very positively to this image. Link to comment
