oswegophoto 1 Posted January 19, 2006 Just at the drawing back of the curtains . . . (detail of welded steel sculpture). Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted January 19, 2006 It looks edible to me, but I'm still cooking dinner. I like the shapes and colors. Link to comment
hiroya 0 Posted January 19, 2006 Yes, very good shapes and colors in a plain composition(though I don't have a habit to eat rusty iron). Link to comment
elina_kangas 0 Posted January 20, 2006 I like the composition, colours, texture - I like this a lot. I don't know how rusty this is, but isn't it beatiful and frosty... Well seen. Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted January 20, 2006 Jim, thanks!Shawn, glad to hear you cook. Yeah, I'm a sucker for shapes and colors. Thanks!Hiroya, thanks for the welcome, and the kind words.Elina, thank you for stopping by and for saying such lovely things. As to how rusty it is: thoroughly. I'll attach a shot of the whole thing below. Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted January 20, 2006 It's basically a folded steel spiral under a meter in diameter, created by my friend, Craig Moore, who not only formed the overall structure, but, amazingly, welded on all those thousands of little "hairs". He likes working with steel, partly because of the changes in colors it undergoes after completion. I like it a lot, but found I couldn't "capture" it photographically to my satisfaction, so I moved in and took some closeups of aspects of it. Link to comment
elina_kangas 0 Posted January 22, 2006 Hi Don, the closeups were really a good choice! And so there was no frost at all =( But you know, I am from north and have it all over, enough, these days... In spite of it or due to it, I keep my first impression =) The other thing, I can see from the whole pic of this piece of art, that it really is vertical. In my comment to photo "Scroll" I "almost" asked you, if you had rotated the pic =) Hoping to see more your good choices! Link to comment
