It's habit here in Italy to burn a bonfire at Epiphany; on top there is an old woman that symbolizes the old year. The originality of this bonfire though is that it is built on a barge in the middle of the river and is ignited by divers who swim 100metres and set it on fire. I shot this from the window of my house and captured the silhouettes of some viewers against the raging fire.

That's no bonfire...that's a raging inferno! It's a great shot, and it is the people that makes it fabulous!! Great shot!

Beautiful capture of all-consuming fire. The people helps to measure the size and intensity of the leaping flames. Thanks for the write-up.

Paula, thrillingly moment you caught! perfect foreground with silhouette of the people & against a fire, and low visual angle makes great effect of perspective, very well done!!! best regards.

Impressive shot of a traditional fire (interesting intro). I like how the silhouettes of the people stand out against the high blazed up fire. I can almost feel the heat and smell the arome of it. Moody picture, Paula. Greetings, Ada:~)
