ada-ipenburg 0 Posted January 17, 2006 Great shot which froms an interesting window and a original frame in itself. Really very well seen! This picture gives something to dream about. I think the two men are dreaming too while they watch out over the sea, and I wonder what's going on in their mind. If one of them had been a woman this picture would have told me a complete different story. I like this kind of shots, but I'm sure that you already knew that, Alex! Warm greetings, Ada:~)) Link to comment
sabina dorneanu 0 Posted January 18, 2006 I simply love this shot and it almost looks like it is made up from two different pictures, athough obviously it is not, but it is so improbable to catch it... great idea to get these people in the frame - a pre-existing one - it is like a reflection on aging, or on the passage of time, on life and death. Or it is like we would watch life going by through a window, not participating in it. Common, i am becoming pathetical... Too bad they wont let me give you a 7, because of some rules i dont really understand...Congrats, Alex Link to comment
dguindon 0 Posted January 20, 2006 Interesting shot Alex, even without people. I like being able to see the floor for some visual relief. I think I can see what thier so interested in - Para-sailers? Link to comment
adam paine 0 Posted January 20, 2006 I love this image. I believe it captures a message of passing of time and an apprehension of what's to come. Thanks for your comment on my work and here the response to your ?: Alex, regarding how this image was created: There has been little editing to this image. The painter (Mark Lupo) used cyan, magenta and yellow tempra paint and I used red green and blue color gels over three Tungsten spotlights. As you may know the three colors combined create white. I wanted to show the entire visable color spectrum in this image. With the help of some shadows to make black ,I think we pulled it off! Thanks for your interest. In case you were wondering what PS work was done: a slight crop and sharpening and levels. Thanks again, Adam Paine Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 22, 2006 Your'e right on the posting good photos comment (site feedback forum). I like how the two people are positioned far from each other and each on at an opposite end of the cut out. An example of the far left and the far right being the same animal/human seeing the same issue and yet having different positions. Link to comment
alexguerra 0 Posted January 22, 2006 Thank you everyone for leaving your thoughts about this, much appreciated. Ada, yes I know you like shots which can tell a story and that is for sure one of the reasons why I like your work so much. A man and a woman in this shot would have been more interesting IMO too. Maybe some day I'll return to this same spot with a comfortable chair and shoot during a couple of hours the different people appearing... Thanks for the idea (: Sabina, pathetical or not it is a pleasure for me to read your interpretations about this shot (kidding about the being pathetic;) Don't worry about the ratings, they're just numbers and your comment is worth so much more than that. Don, what you see are not parasailers but birds, lots of them. And this is not sea, but a river (Tagus) which in this location can be over 13km wide. Adam, thanks for the detailed explanation about your image, very creative stuff! Knicki, I really like your political analogy. I may add that despite being in extreme opposite sides they seem to be able to admire the same subject. Acting as a united triangle, converging, rather than wasting time and energy promoting the opening of gaps where they really don't exist. e.g. man/nature; humans/non-human animals Link to comment

Mui bien. Di Link to comment
