n-j 917 Posted January 17, 2006 I usually never complain about people giving "bad" or exceptional ratings because everyone should feel free enough to rate according to his understanding of photography in a responsible an honest way, BUT in your case I want to advise you that it (probably?!) does take more than those two clicks to get a clean result like this and even if it was the easy way you imagine, you are rating in NUDE section and not DIGITAL ALTERATIONS so you should consider to rate according to the criteria of the relating category which, referring to your biography >>I will rate images that are immoral with a low ratings as I do not feel that sin can hide in "art".<< seems to be rather problematic anyway for a unbiased accomplishment of rating in such a section; in addition let me advise you that especially the motive of "sin" is one of the most present in art and philosophy (ever heard of dante alighieri, hieronimus bosch, eugene delacroix flashing in my mind as very typological examples) over all and due to new media and expression you should rather question things than accuse them to be "sinful". You simply CANT JUDGE being biased ! I just want to tell you that I don't feel "attacked" in person but ( once again refering to your bio >I rate things knowing that everyone is at a different level in their photography and apologize if my standards are high. Simple things like focus and exposure need to be right at any level.< ) you should either reconceive the criteria of your "high standards", open your mind for a kind of photography you obviously fail to have the technical ( digital manipulation ) and "moral" skills and foundation to evaluate, or skip over to another section as your obstinate way of rating might extesively falisfy a document with less ratings ;( and as you can tell by the reponse on your site, some people really feel irritaded by your ratings !! ) I don't want to be rude so if this sounds like that, it might be that my english-skills just don't suffice to transfer my opinion in a more polite way; at last I want to impute you commenting on this picture even in your very sarcastic and rather destructive way; maybe you could enlighten us nonpros with some of your experience and constructive advise instead.(refering to your bio for an end of this : quote :If you have a question, just ask.
