aepelbacher 0 Posted January 16, 2006 I love all of these photos of the lone cypress. The ones in portrait format have a lot of merit, as the vertical draws the viewer's eye in the same direction of the tree. But I think that this one is my favorite ... I love the context. The tree is almost like the compositional icing on the cake: you have a gorgeous sea scape ... rocks, swirling waters, exciting sky ... and then that tree off to the side watching it all happen. The only (teeny) nitpick would be that the left most branch of the tree was chopped off. I'd love to see a tiny bit of sky beyond the end of that branch. Link to comment
msoskil 0 Posted January 16, 2006 Lou Ann, Thanks again for your comment. I happen to agree with you - it drives me crazy that I nipped the branches on the left. I took this shot on my honeymoon 6 years ago and it's bothered me for that long. Now that I have a 2 1/2 year old and one on the way, my chances for getting back to CA to retake the shot are slim for the near future. Link to comment
