salvatore.mele 1 Posted January 12, 2006 A street scene from Jaisalamer, India. Beautifully carved palaces raise out of nothing in the last townbefore the Thar desert. Almost abandoned after camel-shipping gave wayto water-shipping, the town slowly re-populated thanks to tourism, anindustry in which these two guys are somewhat employed. Your comments and criticism on this street scene are most welcome: Irarely shot street indeed... Link to comment
geowelch 0 Posted January 12, 2006 Beautiful setting and nicely composed. Maybe more shadow detail would help. Link to comment
gianlucatrogi 0 Posted January 12, 2006 complimenti bellafoto! ben composta e organizzata. Se proprio devo dire qualcosa la taglierei un centimetro in basso, per eliminare quell'ombra indecisa e un centimetro a destra per eliminare la lampada verde. Link to comment
jstyles 0 Posted January 12, 2006 Salvatore - this is a nice peaceful scene where we can identify with these two guys hanging out, and admire the ornate arches beyond them. But I find the high contrast and overall darkness hard to look at, even though it probably conveys the harsh sunlight quite well. I'm attaching an alternate version for your interest where I tried to soften the contrast a bit and bring us in closer touch with the two figures (cropping and tilting too, to simplify the composition a little). You may prefer to be true to the harsh light that you experienced... Link to comment
pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted January 13, 2006 Hi Salvatore. It's an interesting scene. It seems that crop off the right will fix one problem but create another. if it's important for you PT Lense (it was free last time i checked) might be worth a try, followed by a slight pull of the upper corners to correct perspective. There is enough detail in the shadows so it might be worth it to fiddle with the contrast. Regards, Link to comment
