Thank you all for the nice compliments. Still playing, not actually taking anything new, but it has been a big boost to my psyche just to be able to play! :)

My favorite is the first one you posted - hand-colored b&w. The middle one has too much yellow around his eyes and this one I don't care for the texture. But it's fun to play and see variations of the same picture.

Thanks CJ.

Kim- so true. I thought this one would make a nice note card decoration, I may soften it a bit, but printed it does look like a water color/chalk print. Hard to tell on the net, looses something. :) Nice to hear from you. I enjoy your advice & point of view!!!!

Jayme, often the print version is totally different than the posted version. Sometimes it's frustrating to post something that looks fantastic printed, but just doesn't translate well to the Net. I can believe this would look good printed - the thumbnail is very appealing.

This is nice I love the soft look of this. It reminds me of photos taken in the old days. Babies are so much fun to photograph and somewhat difficult. Keep up the good work. And Yes it is true Boys do get the beautiful long lashes and curly hair. I have two sons with beautiful curls and they cut it short to get rid of the curls. Go figure!

Thanks Jason- this is my favorite too! I love those pink little cheeks! Rare to see him without his pacifier :)

good to see you playing again. I have always admired your artistic talents. This one has just the right amount of color and softness...love the chalky feel.

Thanks Kristin- it's really good being able to play a bit even if it is only for a few hours a day!!! Can't wait until I'm back to 100%. Only a few short weeks off, I hope! :),

I agree with Kim on which comes top with me. I miss the detail in this one.

If you want a lighter camera to assist you getting back into shooting mode I could swap you my 300D for that chunky old 1DsmkII or whatever it is - now there's a generous offer:-). regards - Colin

Colin :) I bought my husband a Canon 7mp point & shoot for Xmas, fits right in his shirt pocket. Do you think he'll let me touch it????? Not a chance :) Just kidding, I happen to think it's pretty darn complicated. I'll stick with my DSLR, I understand it :) Most times!

:-)I bought my wife a Canon Pro S1 (8Mp) P&S for her birthday. It doesn't fit in most pockets and the lens is said to be 'L' quality. It isn't bad. The buttons are quite like the 300D. but I now I'ne got all the buttons of the 300D in my head I can't fathom her new-fangled gadget. I get pitying looks from my 14 yr old son about it. 'Dad, I showed you that....'
