rapo 0 Posted January 12, 2006 painful! I'm not very sure for the composition. The people on the right don't add a lot to the picture and could have been cropped, IMO. Would be curious of a tighter portrait. Yours Link to comment
mindstormphotos 0 Posted January 12, 2006 Thank,s for the comment Philippe.-The main figureof course is the old man,and it,s painful but itencourages you because after so many hrs he managed to finish.I didn,t want to crop the photo more i wanded to live it as it is with people looking the other way.It is a question of image balance in the end. bertr 0 Posted May 22, 2007 Hi, Markos: This image of the old man finishing the marathon speaks to me on many levels. In the folds on his forhead I read determination and an iron desire to succeed. The people nearest to him have turned their backs on him. After all, why should we watch him? He's only an old man...the damned fool...Only two people on his left throw a quick glance over their shoulder. The man is alone...just he and his effort...somehow reminiscent of Hemingway's "The Old Man and the Sea."...Your picture? a classy documentary..Bert Link to comment
