snakecharmer 0 Posted January 10, 2006 This is terribly sad and hard to look at. But the colors are nice, and the composition very good. Link to comment
marius barbulescu 0 Posted January 10, 2006 I love this, though many might not really understand what this means. You've managed to capture a lot of the essence of Aid. Link to comment

nelisarova 0 Posted January 26, 2006 What happened? Sure, I get what you mean that its life, but I don't get why you would show this picture if you feel that way. Show some sensitivity, at least explain the details and tell us what your message is rather than just saying its life. I get the feeling your showing this because its shocking. Link to comment

lupine 0 Posted May 18, 2006 Hi Simon: Having been born in Saudi Arabia and having grown up in Beirut and Cairo, I can relate to this photo. When I lived with my grandmother in Giza, she lived above the local butcher. Sadly, this was a common site, though I have to say I don't the see nor hear the hundreds of flies that seemed to gather after an animal was butchered. Add to that the overwhelming heat and one would swear to become vegeterian. I've lived in the United States now since 1963 and I keep wondering if the way we "farm" animals is any less humane. The bottom line? This is an evocative and powerful image and will mean different things to different people. I Admire you work a great deal and I thank you for the memories albeit sad ones. Good photography stirs the emotions and awakens the soul. Keep shooting. Link to comment
